Natural Variability of the Color of Beech Wood in the Color Space CIE L*a*b*

In this contribution, the color of dry beech wood from zone, sapwood, mature and false heartwood Fagus sylvatica L. trees was analyzed, measurement values were statistically processed in relation to lightness coordinate L* as well chromatic coordinates red a* yellow b* space CIE L*a*b*. The dispersion (color dispersion) ∆EuC coreless zones evaluated through combined standard uncertainties individual space. visual differences between sapwood are numerically documented total ∆E* = 3.5 18.1. Within framework categorization, difference belongs category visible changes, significant changes. By defining boundaries for L*a*b*, is created sort it into groups case customer requests.
